UFC 294: Get updates and highlights from Ultimate Fighting Championship 294, headlined by the lightweight title bout between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski.

Round 1: Anshul starts off positively with a leg kick and couples it up with a right arm jab. The fighters exchange body shots. Breeden gets the combo right as he finds Anshul’s head with a left hook. Anshul almost connected a knee kick but Breeden was braced for it and pulls himself out. Breeden lets his guard down for a leg kick and Anshul capitalises as he throws a couple of punches to the American’s face. Anshul currently has the advantage with 29 significant strikes compared to Breeden’s 18. Round one comes to an end

Round 2: Anshul goes for the takedown straighaway as he attempts to grab Breeden’s leg but the American gets out of the stanglehold quickly. Breeden’s left eyebrow is split open as Anshul lands a powerful jab. Both the fighters are still a bit defensive. The reason? this is Anshul’s debut and Breeden on the other hand is on a 4-fight losing streak so they are looking to get everything right. Breeden ends round two on a high as he gets a couple of jabs to Anshul’s face. However, anshul is still leading on points

Round 3: Third and final round is underway. Anshul gets a grapple on and dishes out a knee kick. Breeden responds with a couple of jabs. He follows it up with multiple punches as Anshul lets his guard down. Things not looking good for the Indian. Anshul, for some reason, is finding it difficult to dodge whatever Breeden is throwing at him. AND BREEDEN DOES IT! KNOCKS ANSHUL OUT TO END HIS DROUGHT. WHAT A COMEBACK FROM THE AMERICAN!

Result: Mike Breeden def. Anshul Jubli via third-round KO (3:00)

Anshul makes his away into the octagon. Doesn’t look like he is making his debut as the Indian looks as calm as possible. The battle-hardened Breeden takes the octagon shortly after. FYI, Breeden will be fined 30 per cent of his purse for missing weight by 3.5lbs

Anshul’s UFC debut is closer than ever. The Uttarakhan-born fighter will climb the octagon after the men’s featherweight bout between Nathaniel Wood and Muhammad Naimov. Yet another three-round fight here and Naimov wins the bout via unanimous decision!

Up next, America’s Jihn Yu Frey takes on Russia’s Viktoriia Dudakova. The latter dominates the first round, landing 18 significant strikes compared to Frey’s eight. The trend continues and rightly so, Dudakova is adjudged the winner.

Result: Viktoriya Dudakova def. Jinh Yu Frey via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

The first fight of the night will be between debutant Shara Magomedov and Brazil’s Bruno Silva. And now it’s upto the judges as the fighters finish all three rounds. Shara starts off his UFC career with a win via unanimous decision!

India’s Anshul Jubli will make his much-anticipated Ultimate Fighting Championship(UFC) debut on Saturday in UFC 294, headlined by the exciting lightweight bout where Islam Makhachev will defend his title against Alexander Volkanovski.

Jubli will take on Mike Breeden of the United States in a lightweight fight that is scheduled under early preliminaries.

The fighter, hailing from Uttarakhand, will come into this weekend’s fight in red-hot form as he is unbeaten in the professional Mixed Martial Arts(MMA) circuit with seven out of seven wins

Breeden on the other hand, is 16 fights old with ten wins and six losses. Analysing purely on the recent form of both the fighters, this could be the perfect start to Jubli’s UFC career as the American is on a four-fight losing streak.

Jubli will be poised to make an imposing first impression as a victory on Saturday would make him the only Indian to win a bout in UFC.

UFC 294: Anshul Jubli’s opponent Mike Breeden misses weight ahead of lightweight fight

The uncertainty regarding the fight going through was cleared when Jubli took to his official Instagram handle and declared he would go ahead with the fight by resharing a story posted by his manager.

After the Road to UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) final win, India’s Anshul Jubli announced “Namaste UFC, India is here!”. And he is just days away from realising his dreams.
