The European Committee for Standardization is one of three European Standardization Organizations (together with CENELEC and ETSI) that have been officially recognized by the European Union and by the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) as being responsible for developing and defining voluntary standards at European level.

Centrifuges |
Standardization of common safety requirements and all other aspects for centrifuges having a kinetic energy of rotation of at least 200 Nm, aiming at separation of liquid/liquid/solid/solid or at least of two of these.
The standardization does not cover:
- Centrifuges intended for household use;
- Centrifugal casting and forming machines;
- Hazards specific to the processing of atomic energy products;
- Hazards specific for biotech application.
