The European Committee for Standardization is one of three European Standardization Organizations (together with CENELEC and ETSI) that have been officially recognized by the European Union and by the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) as being responsible for developing and defining voluntary standards at European level.

Scope
Standardization in the field of district heating and district cooling systems including design, prefabricated pipe systems, construction, integration, control, optimization, monitoring.
Excluded: Aspects of DHC systems already covered by existing committees or future standardization.
NOTE: This TC foresees a close cooperation with existing committees that may support DHC at system level such as: CEN/TC 113, CEN/TC 155, CEN/TC 156, CEN/TC 197, CEN/TC 228, ISO/ TC 60, ISO/TC 265, ISO/TC 301, ISO/TC 341
