The European Committee for Standardization is one of three European Standardization Organizations (together with CENELEC and ETSI) that have been officially recognized by the European Union and by the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) as being responsible for developing and defining voluntary standards at European level.

Mapping of the mandatory and voluntary Carbon Management framework in the EU |
The new CEN Workshop will map the European regulatory and the voluntary standardisation framework related to carbon management with the aim of promoting synergies between legislative and voluntary instruments. It will provide a tool to the public and the private sector to speed up the transition to a carbon-neutral economy by 2050.
