The standardization of gas appliances:
- using liquefied petroleum gases (LPG), related equipment and their installation in vehicles such as: domestic flueless space heaters, catalytic heaters, barbecues, cooking appliances for outdoor use and patio heaters, small non-domestic space heaters, appliances operating at vapour pressure, camping appliances, refrigerating appliances, space and water heating appliances for use in vehicles and boats, hoses, nozzles, hose connectors and hose assemblies, high and low pressure regulators, change over devices and adaptors,
- using natural gas for outdoor use such as: barbecues, cooking appliances, patio heaters and small non-domestic flueless heaters.
The standards produced address in particular safety, efficiency and fitness-for-purpose issues. Most of these standards are mandated by EC in support of the essential requirements of the Gas Appliance Regulation (GAR) 2016/426/EU. The standards produced are expected to be the basis for possible standardization of similar applications.
