Gameplay is a good advancement from the original, designs of characters, Earth's story, all of it is very basic and it ties up feeling like a modern episode of Doctor Who.

Most I can say is it is generic and at least to some degree it respected the original and didn't pull a full on DEI and ruin Cutter Slade.

Game is pretty Meh. The best way I can describe it is doing mindless repetitive tasks. Everything is very samey. Almost no enemy variations. You fight the same enemies over and over. The outposts/gorks/obstacle challenges are all so boring and repetitive. Some are just copy pasted so you do the same thing over and over again.

There's a decent amount of bugs and crashes still in the game several months after release.

The game could use a ton of quality of life changes. For example showing my ammo and what weapon I have equipped at all times instead of hiding the HUD. Or maybe letting the player decouple the keybindings for picking up items and switching weapons. I could go on and on here.

I will say they did a good job with the gliding quests/challenges.

I really enjoyed this game. I loved the cut scenes. I was drawn in by the story and the characters. I did reach a glitch, I still needed two symbols and had finished all quests but I still needed to hit one more base which was cloaked by a force field. I went to all the villages but nothing seemed to trigger story progression. I finally saved the game and reloaded it a couple times and redid some of the quests and finally, the story progressed. I was able to get to the next main quest line which was to free the Talon leaders. The game held my interest throughout. Some parts I enjoyed more than others. I did like the ending.

Performance is uneven. There are times where even the cutscenes would drop frames for no apparent reason. Visually, it is quite nice, with varied environments and interesting weapon effects.

The story is a bit hard to follow, especially with the characters being a mix of memorable and forgettable. The lip syncing is not very good and occasionally the VO and subtitles don't match, sometimes misleadingly so. It is very easy to sequence break the game. You can complete mission objectives out of order and cause the dialog to become nonsense.

Main quests and side quests were fairly weak in terms of engagement. I wasn't particularly drawn to completing either except to improve my equipment. Both felt tedious and repetitive at times. Sometimes the objective I would ask you to collect a certain amount of resources when the actual number of resources needed for the next objective would be twice that amount. The story itself feels dated, relying on the trope of "white savior" for most of the game. I will say it was nice when completing objectives in one village would help another village. It really helped to tie the world together.

The traversal is the highlight with a decent upgrade path. The weapon and combat upgrades seem mostly redundant. There was no need to experiment with weapon modules after I created my preferred weapon loadouts. The combat upgrades were almost entirely optional except for the first tier. The combat itself can be fun but repetitive, however close combat can be a nightmare because of the camera, especially indoors. I played this on hard and by the middle of the game I was looking for a harder difficulty level.

Overall, I would call this a frustrating, shallow spectacle.

I remember old game and was waiting for this one. But it is disappointing and boring.

Main story is naive and childish. Maybe teenagers will find it interesting but another cringy story about bad humans and good pacifist simpleton space "indians" is too much for me. NPCs are also very similar to each other, including dialogues and tasks they have for you. The gfx and the world is quite nice but the map is empty - filled only with boring sidemissions (parkour and bandit camps). Sea and lakes are dead, there is nothing in them outside of some garbage to find. Neutral animals are immune to shots and ignore them (not that I need hunting in this game but it is just stupid).

Music was a one of the big advantages of old game. It still is quite good but every cool epic fragment ends suddenly - replaced by something entirely different - which destroys whole immersion. Same with cutscenes. Whoever was directing it did not make a good job.

Your money is better spent with Forbidden West. The machanics of this game are clunky and the story line, IDK, just not wrtten well in my very unqualified opinion. The trailer makes this game look awesome, but I'm telling you it plays like a gae from like 10 years ago.

wonderful Game

the dialog is very funny enjoying exploring the world. the only thing I don't like so far is that nothing is explained so no tutorial so I am learning as I go

Feels like Piranha Bytes but more love.
