Off course I've not saved. Got a pause from playing the game for a few weeks before this mission. I've forgot about "saving archimedes" goal. Off course they didn't added that essential goal to the list of goals, or I've missed or something. I've only had the one about the soldiers.

So here I am seeing this random priest. who is this guy? click on it, Archimedes. FF UU oh yes. what to do? and he is dead. a random tower I've had, he moved to that tower. dead. game lost.

I've played various campaigns but The Rise of Rome is really all over the place. first the "The Birth of Rome" with all those towers that need to be build. you need perfect start else you get annihilated. you have no idea how to prepare because you first need to die a couple of times to understand when and from where the AI will show up

then the impossible mission "Pyrrhus of Epirus" where I'm getting rushed both from land and from sea with countless attack and transport ships. with top tier troops. I can't even manage to start the economy that I have elephants both on the island and on land.

I'm reading online and they say the AI send like an elephant sometimes by sea and very rarely on land. not my experience. I'm attacked quite earlier with fully upgraded ships that wipe my entire starting navy and the various towers. then transport ship arrive with elephants and cavaliers.

then on land elephants and siege units. they said try to fortify the bridge. no luck I'm filling it with stones, they wipe out the stones. they also send troops by sea both on the island and directly on land.
