Thought bout buying this game - but read many reports about gamebreaking bugs & rumors, the dev had left the game without fixing these - are there any news/sources?

I keep thinking I'm prepared, have different guard varieties prepared with all kinds of unlocked weapons from aliens, robots but no matter what there seems to be more cops than before and they seem to also have more health than before. I have NEVER been able to handle the cops with my guards and they destroy all my things. Why is this even a thing? I make a million dollars and suddenly they want more, and more, and more. This is ridiculous. Does anyone know how to deal with them?...
