I am playing on new game mode, and in the eastern edge of the catacombs there is a red key door that leads to a three screen long corridor, at the end of which all there was, was one of those red knight minibosses, at least as far as I can tell. The room also has a blindfolded gorgon head profile statue. If there is a secret or puzzle involving this room I would like to know, otherwise it feels kinda bad that I wasted a rare red key on this....

I just purchased this game, and while there are bits of intoxicating potential (go left etc.), I'm finding myself incredibly frustrated by the raw amount of wasted time devoted to backtracking with no fast travel or to switch characters at a bonfire. Please tell me both of these things are only temporary and that the game eventually gives you a teleport and instant character swap feature? i am approximately halfway through the game but now when i try to load my save the game gets stuck in the black screen wtf am i supposed to do
