Age of Empires® III (2007)

Stuck with no villager and can't train them.
I have not played in a while so I am not sure how this would happen, but my wife is currently playing and has fallen into the following scenario:

So according to her, she started a new skirmish as France, she has now reach the Industrial Age all of her Coureur de Bois were transform into Colonial Militia, so now she is unable to keep progressing (she can't build or gather resources) and not only that, but she also cannot train any more Coureurs because they are blocked with a message that says that she needs to be in Age 1 to train them. What can she do in this situation?

Thanks for the help.

once you revolt in a game, you can no longer train any new villagers/coureurs

basically an all or nothing strategy, since your only economy left is either fishing boats, factories or trading posts

Industrial Age doesn't block training of villagers, so it sounds like they did revolution instead of imperial age

Sorry but I am not sure what you mean with "revolt" in a game? Also, are "revolution" and "imperial age" game modes? Where do I choose those? I remember only seeing supremacy and something else when I help her create the skirmish.

Game modes no. It's how you advance tech levels while ingame in a skirmish. The wiki does provide more info about Revolts (anything related to Definitive Edition ignore):

Basically the only time your villagers would transform into Colonial Militia is if you purposely choose to "Age Up" via the "Revolution" at the Town Center instead of the "V" icon (which is the "Imperial Age").

I see, I understand now. I did not know about this feature. I guess there is not way to undo it right? I will probably have to tell my wife that she will have to start a new skirmish, and be careful with what she chooses next time. Thanks for all the info.

no way to revert back once you revolt.

only in the Definitive Edition did they overhaul the system, so you could just send a card to regain the ability to train villagers.
