Check your settings. Why would you rely on mods to disable the infection if it is right in the settings where you could and should disable it?

Need help m8?
Even if you correctly disable dying from the knox virus a bite will still mess you up for a while but eating enough will help with that.

my tip is get more traits mod and get yourself super immune perk or infatiguable which are powerful perks to help against the virus instead of turning it off. Vanilla tip have good fitness, use stealth, and never fight zombies inside always kite them into a big group and slowly pick them apart.

You can edit your own post.

Also more traits is one of those mods that can cause a lot of issues and bugs.

My advice, try harder, not easier difficulty for a few games. Go to sandbox and select 6 Months Later. It's winter. All utilities are out. There's a lot more zeds, making it very dangerous to try and stay in the middle of town right off the bat. Loot is more sparse. In the early game you really just have to make for the outskirts of towns or even further out to the boonies and scavenge enough to get a decent foothold somewhere and then work your way up on the edges of post-civilization. The thing to keep in mind is that anybody can make it at this difficulty. It's not about l33t gamer skills. It's about learning the do's and don'ts.

But the benefit is that there are two things you will learn a lot more quickly.

1. All the stuff that doesn't really matter. Like there's no real time crunch in Apocalypse and Survival mode. Water and food are easy enough to find even when there's less loot. The TV shows are convenient but not so big of a deal you should take risks trying to not miss one. And fighting skills are less important than learning to herd groups away from stuff effectively in the early game.

2. All the mistakes that are getting you killed. It's easier to not see where you're going wrong at lower difficulty where you'll often survive in spite of making bad calls. In higher difficulty, you die almost every time you take an unnecessary risk.

I found that after getting to a point where I could make it a week in 6 months later, Apocalypse got easier and I had a much easier time learning from my mistakes.
And here I thought the thread is just about how to disable the infection ~

if one is new to the game, best to go with turning the zeds to weaker shamblers only, not fast shamblers, and multihit on.

Anything else should be left alone for the learning experience / can be adjusted later on - otherwise it will spoil the game, some option more severe than others. ESPECIALLY when you are new not having a grasp of the big picture yet.
Simply host your own server and place yourself into god mode. Enjoy!
Uhh... I don't think you need mods to turn off zombification. You probably died because of the mods instead. And you still need to tend to that bite wound even if you turn off infection. Otherwise you'll bleed to death.

dont get bitten you also dont need mods to turn off infection
Play it safe and sneak around. If you are single player mode/solo then get the set spawnpoint mod if you want to spawn at a house/base of your choosing. Change settings for weapon highlight to be all weapons (this will make it easier to aim). Push zombies away when they get close before trying to swing. Disabling infection will not disable death, there are many ways to die. I would recommend keeping infection on, at least for bite only, then applying a mod where you can create or get/find a cure. Stay well fed, rested, hydrated when injured to heal faster. Stock up on VHS tapes (the skill tapes). Change bandages often to avoid infection. Raid pharmacies for antibiotics and other supplies. I enjoy having higher difficulty after playing for so long. You can backpedal while attacking zombies and they will never catch you unless sprinters are active (which I prefer - Night sprinters are great). Lure zombies along a tall fence to line them up. Crowbars are life. Push, boink, push, boink combo. GLHF.

Mods could be interfering with the setting to turn off infection. Try messing around with those setting first before adding in mods. They are much more reliable for about 90% of things.

Skill issue, get better, jk. Bandage your wounds and sanitize the bandages too.
