When this was released, I was so happy to have a game from Amplitude Studios, who I had followed since Endless Space, taking on the seemingly untouchable Civilization.

But somehow it never grabbed me. Typically, I can remember what happened in each game of Civ V and Civ VI when I think back, but here it just seems like a confusing swirl of "stuff happened and then it ended".

It just seems so undefined and wishy-washy and haphazardly designed, and other than the fluid cultures, I can't even put my finger on why it feels that way.

But, to highlight a positive: As always with Amplitude Studios, the UI is super polished and looks modern and understandable.

Not a bad game by any means, but I would not recommend it even to strategy fans.

Excellent Civ like strategy game. I really like the tile based tactical battle that opens up what a battle is started between two armies.

Couldn't really get the feel of the game when it first released, but coming back to it now in the wake of CIV 7's announcement has really made things click. A gorgeous 4x game with satisfying combat and addictive turns, I hope the devs keep working on this game!
