When in the tutorial, the mouselook seems to be buggy. Moving the mouse a long distance only moves the view a short distance. Going to Options -> Game and changing Sensitivity does not appear to make a difference. Note that this is a high-resolution display (1440p), though changing resolution did not appear to make a difference....
