Space engineers 2 has significant graphics improvements over the first game, however at its current state its not really playable for long periods of time. You can build simple ships and fly them into other ships.

However this is exactly as advertised. Its a First alpha release, not the full game. and for that this is wonderful, it still has more features then SE1 did on launch. if you want a full game right now buy Space engineers 1. and come back to this when its more baked. If you want to support keen and are curious about SE2 right now then buy it, its not the best thing in the world but for a first release its not bad.

a lot of people don't seem to understand that an alpha game is typically nowhere near finished, and honestly, is typically not released to the public for any price tag, because the game can change drastically during alpha, and they'd rarely have any content to begin with.

this alpha seems very good considering that, but obviously keep in mind, it has nowhere near the same functionality as space engineers 1 yet.

worth mentioning, my 7900XTX gpu was "not supported" because i use Pro drivers on windows rather than the standard adrenaline drivers, i ended up playing on linux through proton.

i can only recommend this game to people who know what they are getting into, but if you are looking at it and saying "Hey, that looks cool, maybe I should try it!" then stop, look for space engineers 1, it has planets, mods, modded planets, jump drives, and is obviously more feature-packed than an alpha game, which space engineers 2 currently is.

Dont buy it yet, its more of just a technical preview, which is clearly communicated if you read the steam page but some people might miss that and just look at reviews. There isnt a survival mode or anything like that its just creative mode on a platform in space. Ill change my review once survival mode is released
