Games good ... really good but half the game being DLC is bad vibes

Honestly I want to mark this as a like, but in good faith I cannot. the company has been making better decisions recently. But the fact the AI still has MASSIVE problems is a serious turn off. If you Don't love the lore as much as I do, which is most people. I would suggest waiting for a sale or until the developers acknowledge the AI issues, especially with its anti player bias.

Let me give you an example: I am playing Malakai and am fighting pretty much every chaos faction on the North side of the map. Which is too be expected. they keep coming and I keep dragging them down 1 by 1... literally barely holding on despite being outnumbered 5 to 1. I am winning every fight but barely... But suddenly Nuln's AI faction who I have never even seen or come into contact with declares war on me,.. While she is at war with other factions already. She should "like" me for fighting Chaos for the record. As she declares war she sends multiple armies at me and totally avoiding enemy lands and my AI allied faction which she has to cross and is at war with. Hilariously the other factions she was at war with start taking more of her land but she keeps sending armies after me. The AI hates you so much they will actually sacrifice their lands to attack you as a distant target when better targets are more plentiful. There are many, many other cases of this. This was NOT a problem in Total Warhammer 2. You can try to mod this out but then the mods go to far the other way. Could we just go back to a system like TW2 please?

Another example I was playing Vampire counts and had turned a Decisive Loss into a close victory, a tough battle, my sense of satisfaction came to a abrupt end though because to my horror, somehow 1 Enemy hero survived the battle and ended up in the same spot on the campaign map as my vampire lord. This caused a MASSIVE bug that completely messed up the game as the Vampire lord could now no longer move on the campaign map. After some digging my options were to either try and assassinate the hero which I did not have a hero to do that and would have lost me 5+ turns to get one... or replay the battle again. Turns out I played the same battle 4 times because I had to make sure to kill every hero to make sure the game didn't crap itself. I think this was a rare bug in total Warhammer 2 as well, you would think they would fix it.

It is dumb issues like these that hold back this game.

As a long time fan of TW games and after putting 300 hours in Warhammer 2, I had great expectations for this game, considering the improvement 2 was on 1.

Unfortunately I must say the direction this game series has taken is not to my liking after 48 hours of trying to like it, trying out many different mods to improve the experience.

It feels considerably more arcade-y to what was an already fairly arcade like experience, the pacing is terrible in an extremely chaotic grand campaign with half the factions dead before turn 20, battles are extremely fast and the AI struggles to handle the plethora of small size-single units units added to the meta that turns it into more of a Hero game taking away from the TW feel.

I don`t know how to phrase it to make sense but it feels like instead of making a TW game out of Warhammer, they have made a Warhammer game out of TW.

I hope they go back to their roots in whatever they make next.

The AI is trash. They cheat and do things you can not so they can beat you. Its not fun when battles will take over an hour and you lose because the AI can do things just to beat you. Its not a challenge its dumb and frustrating. They will control their individual units in a group and make them tie down multiple of your ranged units. They will bypass your defenses and run through your lines like they are not even there. For some reason your ranged units will not fire if one enemy unit engages with you and you have clear line of sight and skirmish mode off. The AI will shoot you at point blank range and are not disrupted. When a unit has no health and is about to break, all of the sudden they will fight to the last man while taking 90% reduced damage. When they do break they will fight back when they are not supposed. One soldier in their unit runs towards furthest edge of the map and has the unit flag so that you have no choice but to chase them. The others in the unit will run towards their forces so they will return. Meanwhile when your units break they will run to the shortest path to the edge and though the enemy forces. If your units do come back they are turned around or in the most vulnerable position they can be. Or the game just cancels your order and your units stand there doing nothing and die. If these things happen very rarely it is understandable. These things happen way more often than not. Anything that is chance in the game never ever favors the player. You could have 90% success rating and fail. On the campaign map the AI will use other factions that they have no relations with to team up on you. Your allies are brain dead and no help at all. Its a fun game but it gets you so annoyed and mad when in order to win on the campaign map you need to win battles. I understand the fact that you can not win all battles. The ones you can win, you lose because the AI cheats. The cheats are said to be turned off and the game has hidden cheats.

This game is very addictive atleast for me, For the last few days i've only played this, People say it's bad but its not, not for me anyway, I love what you can do in this game i just hate the fact most of the Races are locked behind a pay-wall other then that i say 10/10

this game is great if you want to play as a rat with nuclear bombs

Immortal Empires might be the single best strategy game project in the history of video games. For all the issues and faults since launch, CA still managed to make the best Warhammer Fantasy x Total War video game.

They continue to burden people with needing a huge reinstall for their lazy updates. This is bad practice, avoided by minimum effort of a week or two. Instead, it comes down to the players to pick up the slack. Garbage business model, and I won't support it anymore. You didn't do this on your past games, yet now you do it. Uninstalling. If an update no longer require me to reinstall the entire game, I will change this review.

70 hours in, i have no idea how to play it really, but my funny rats seem to be having a great time, so i think im doing something right.
