Hades II

Brutal Progress Reset After Crash
I started a run on the surface and got all the way to the second boss, and then the game crashed when there was just a third of the boss' health left. I had to shut off my computer. When I booted the game back up, not only had it not been autosaving my progress, but it left me on my last save which was right before I started the run! :steamfacepalm:
Before this happened the game crashed during a playable flashback cutscene right after I died to Chronos, and I was able to carry on from the beginning of the cutscene right after I rebooted the game.
Please make sure autosaves are still saved even after a crash so I can play the game without having to quit every time I complete an encounter just to make sure everything is okay in the event of a crash.

There is a section in the Hades II Technical Support FAQ pinned at the top of this discussion board about how to recover lost progress from backed up autosaves. Have you tried that?

I ran into the same issue - I did try the technical support FAQ to manually recover from backup but it did not work initially, however I had a free profile slot and copying the backup into a different profile it would then show up

Heyo - Most likely, when you tried recovering the most recent save file, your _temp.sav file was being read instead. If you remove that, it should load whatever you put into the main Profile1.sav file.
