Hades is a game I am very conflicted towards. Just be warned before playing that this game loves to waste your time. The game by design is very dubious in how it relays information to the player, or withholds crucial dialogue in order for you to slowly make advancements with side endeavors or even the epilogue. God help those who use their resources with no regard to what may lie ahead, such as ambrosia. It wasn't until I was 45 hours in that I had the game mention it could be used as gifts for people, which was relayed to me by Dionysus and through the codex entry on the item itself.

This game is essentially one large exposition dump with half of itself containing sensational gameplay, visuals, voice acting and music, while the other half is a slot machine. Brevity does not exist here. I love Bastion and Transistor, and I will even play Pyre at a later date. Those two games are far better than this, but I get why people beat Hades once, maybe twice and then proclaim it to be perfect. They just didn't play it. I'm not giving it a negative review because of course it's good, there's a ton of quality here, but boy am I glad to be free from this one finally.

Really felt like a roll of the dice whether I'd be done with the epilogue in a few more hours, or 15. Do not even get me started on other things, such as characters simply refusing to show back up in the house either. Oh, Patroclus, you don't feel like advancing our quest with Achilles after I shared a drink with him? You wish to tell me more about how boring Elysium is? Kings and false heroes, huh? Thanks.
