Titan Quest II

Game looks cheap !?
At least in gameplay trailer the game looks cheap. If you compare it to TQ 1 a 18 year game it feels cheap right away.
Did they upload gameplay from early days of development by accident or something ?
They had one job, to make next TQ 2 with same skill system, better visuals, better animations and story.
Instead we get TQ 0.5...

I really want this game to be top ARPG but this doesnt look promising at all, sorry for harsh criticism but don't release game in such state, please.

This is feedback from the recent trailer, i am not trying to trashtalk the devs or anything just to make myself clear.
i kinda have to agree i loved TQ1 but seeing how this looks now i expected more, but we have to wait and see also still no release date so who knows maybe we have to wait 2 more years ^^
Think devs mentioned there won't be hordes of enemies, you will be fighting small groups at best - think they don't know what H&S games are sadly.
Biggest worry is the skills, animation, progression etc.
How do you expect this game to be the top dog when the devs have no prior experience in H&S tell me?
The animations looked stiff and I did not feel any impact on hits. Still buying it. I won't notice after 30 minutes.

Don't necessarily need experience in a genre. I'll just quote Medierra aka Arthur Bruno, Lead Game Designer on the original TQ/IT disc version.

"The idea that a developer who made ARPGs can only make ARPGs is a very publisher-like sentiment. We ran into this very scepticism when we pitched Titan Quest and the problem then was - we were known as RTS designers. Yep, at Iron Lore, Brian Sullivan and myself only had experience on RTS and publishers weren't sure we could manage to make a successful ARPG."

Now, are you going to tell me TQ1 isn't a good ARPG game?

w8 medierra worked with Brian Sullivan? where is he now? is he going to work in tq2? Brian Sullivan was gr8 is he alive?
Well, yes, since Brian set up Iron Lore back in the day. No, he's not working on TQ2. Most recent seems to have been Age of Empires II Definitive Edition back in 2019 from what I can gather googling. He has a LinkedIn page, but I don't use that so couldn't really see much there.

I get the drift but expecting the sequel to topple GGG (I consider the top dog as they are way ahead of their rivals) from its throne ain't going to happen. Anyone saying the opposite is not sane — I'd love to, however, it's delusional.

No one is expecting it to. Different games for different players. Some will play both, others won't. Same with any game.
Why people care about how the game looks so much in a game where the camera is 100ft in the air is beyond me. The scenery is TQ1 looks great. The scenery in the TQ2 combat trailer looks great. The spell effects look great.

Is it Lost Ark levels? No, but it doesn't have to be. Hell, I think GW1 looks amazing and it's got polygonal terrain for days.

How can you say it looks great is beyond my understanding. Sure from graphical view the game looks ok, but the boss fight example really looks great to u ? Because to me it looks half finished or near 70 % finished product, but they dont state that in the trailer.
Do you really have such low standards for sequel to one of the best old arpgs ?

The original game had this outdated aesthetic too. It's meant to look very accessible clean open and the details are in the environments, like PIllars of Eternity kind of. Or Jagged Alliance 3. It's a certain type of aesthetic. I love it. It's not Diablo 4 or Pillars or something. It's brighter and happier and more pleasant and that's what these games are. Fun adventure and epic mythology, not dark evil satanic stuff lol.

Yea i hope devs realize that, all this complaints/feedback could be solved if it was "work in progress" trailer.
