Before we start addressing this update, we would LOVE to thank all of you guys who played Alan Sharp! We carefully watched every stream/video we could come across, whether it's live or pre-recorded on Youtube or Twitch.

We analyzed every single moment, writing down things which felt hard, bothered you, potential bugs and issues, suggestions, audience & content creator feedback - everything we could come across to make Alan Sharp as best as possible for all detective, horror fans and lovers of deep, immersive stories.

The number of players who already got the game in these two days is... astonishing. And seeing streamers/players immersed in the story itself was a dream come true. Thank you!

Now, back to the UPDATE ːsteamhappyː
We noticed some concerning issues which prevented some players from continuing the game at particular points, so those became our first top priority for this next patch.

Here are the things that will not bother you anymore, peeps! A good bug is a dead bug *demonic grin:

1. The Doctor not working in the asylum level after you exit and click continue - save system issues fixed
2. The pump puzzle bugging
3. The pump spawning a double cinematic and game crashing
4. Huge inventory fix which previously deleted items randomly
5. Removed a widget in police station
6. Fixed the "gun" at "Empty level" to prevent spam and cause a glitch
7. Fixed several journal entries
8. Removed a floating lamp light in Regan Manor
9. Increased blocking volume at the library which caused players to get stuck when opening the drawer.
10. Removed a trigger box saying "Not available in this demo"
11. Rotation fix for Last Checkpoint after you get caught - caused players to get confused when Sam was looking in the dark.
12. Fixed a bug which caused players to light up item before a puzzle is solved.
13. Huge graphical optimization for smoother gameplay and higher FPS.

Note: A few more "visual" things will be fixed first things in the morning tomorrow, although they won't affect your gameplay and get you stuck.
With the morning update, we'll also change the version in the main menu, so do not get confused when you see version 1.0.5 still there with game's update.

Also, we received a lot of questions regarding future chapters. Soon, we'll post another announcement which thoroughly describes how future chapters will be released to clear out any misunderstanding and confusion you might have.

There were a lot of ups and downs, many moments that threatened to shut down the production, but luckily, here we are! 🤯

Hello there, guys.

The on-going world crisis has affected a lot of businesses in many different ways.
Mystive Studios, unfortunately, was heavily affected too.

The crisis not only had a heavy impact financially on our studio, but it also affected us mentally and physically, even to the point of threatening to shut down all production of Alan Sharp.

However, we did our best to fight these terrible times and the best we came up with was - since the delay of the game was inevitable, our best choice was to release the game in Chapters.

The full game (completing all 4 chapters) is planned for later this year (hopefully if all goes well). At the moment, we'll be focusing on doing our best to polish Chapter 0: Prologue and share it with the many people who constantly supported us, checked on us and loved to play Alan Sharp.

It's been quite some time since our latest announcement here on Steam. As we're approaching to particular milestones in our development, we would love to share with you some of the goals we have already accomplished for Alan Sharp. Check it out! ːsteamhappyː

• Major overhaul of lighting for the full game
  
• Complete redesign of characters including: modeling, optimization, new textures, materials and shaders to make them feel more "realistic".
  
• Careful implementation of the Survival systems in particular parts of the game. As we mentioned before, Alan Sharp heavily relies on Psychological Horror and Detective Investigation, however, there will be parts of the storyline which will contain Survival elements.
  
• Re-tweaking particular AI-s code, improving their behavior.

A whole system across the game, starting from Chapter 1. It features high replayability, a lot of Player Choices throughout the entire game and Multiple Endings. It's main focus is critical thinking, logical consideration and player choice of a suspect based on acquired evidence.

Here, at Mystive Studios, we just started an awesome game mechanic, a new feature which will definitely change the overall feel and gameplay of "Alan Sharp". After brainstorming countless ideas on how we could improve and provide better gameplay experience with every coming chapter, we came up with the idea we called


After careful consideration, we realized that it would drastically change everything, providing a lot of Replayability, a lot of Player Choices and Multiple Endings.


The Suspect System represents our unique contribution to the Psychological/Survival Horror genre. It did not take long to realize that it would become the most basic core mechanic of Alan Sharp which will lead the entire progress of the players.

Being also a Detective/Mystery Game, Alan Sharp needed some kind of a mechanic which would make players "feel" like detectives, to know that their thinking, consideration, analysis of evidence actually affects the world around them and the overall gameplay. That's how this Suspect System of Alan Sharp was born.


Like we previously mentioned, Alan Sharp will feature approximately 4 hours of gameplay per each Chapter. Currently, there are 4 planned Chapters of the overall storyline (although this might change).

Being heavily based on dialogue choices and unveiling the truth via interaction with other characters in Beggers Hole, there will be particular moments when the player must make a decision.
The system takes into consideration all characters the player met until that particular moment and writes them down in the Journal.

In these critical moments, the player will have to make a decision and add a tick to a particular name (character) he thinks it is a suspect in the Regans' Case. The choice will be fully on the player, who should critically analyze the evidence, consider everything he uncovered so far and make the decision.


In the last Chapter, the Suspect System will check the analysis of the player throughout the entire game and based on the character who has the most "ticks" (suspect points), it will provide a different ending where that character will be arrested. Remember, only one is the true villain and the wrong choices might put an innocent soul into jail :))

Having The Suspect System on the front lines, these are the 3 Most Important Things that it would be affected by it:

Replayability - The suspect system is present throughout the entire game
Player Choice - A fully-free player choice by adding ticks depending on his opinion, his analysis of evidence and encounters.
Multiple Endings - Basically, there will be as much ending as there are characters in the Suspect System.
