It is actually pretty upsetting that EA left this game to die despite it being exactly what most Star Wars fans want to see more of. A good, solid largely single player experience that still holds up even with the multiplayer servers being dead - and oh, are they dead. This game hasn't received live support or updates in nearly forever due to company policies, and that sucks, because there was and still is so much potential for more content. All of this was for a price lower than most, and often objectively worse, modern Star Wars games.

VR worked perfectly great for me, but I hear that there's some tech issues that have been faced by others. Same with the EA launcher. I don't really think there are going to be any more updates made for this game, so if you pick it up, just know that what you see is what you get.

While multiplayer is dead, you can still earn EXP and unlockables by playing the Solo Fleet Battles vs AI mode. I would have preferred to have just had the entire customization tree opened up entirely when support was cut for the game, but hey. We take what we can get.

I'm into flight combat sims, I'm glad that this game has option to choose between arcade shooter and flight combat sims. I set it to flight combat sims and able to map the keys binding to HOTAS easily. Star Wars ships design aren't realistic like Elite Dangerous but still fun to utilize my HOTAS flying at WW2 fighters speed and range. Overall is fun, game developers like Frontiers Development should take note on how to create space flight combat sims.

As for the characters in the game, Star Wars have gone off track from original Lucas Starwars EP4-6. I don't mind seeing multi-racial and multi-species in the Rebel Alliance and New Republic. But having multi-racial in Imperial Galactic Empire is totally wrong that I can't bear to look at. George Lucas made the Galactic Empire based on fascist Nazi German empire where there are only Caucasians in the politics and military. Also, there aren't many men in command which is very wrong here. I'm Asian myself but when comes to facts, yes means yes, no means no, facts shouldn't be twisted. If developer could correct this, the game would be 10/10

Can not get the game to start. Issues with EA/easyanticheat, stopped trying. Money wasted.

I wish there was a "mixed" finger button, because that's what I'd use here.

Let's start off with the positives:
Game looks good (on max settings) and plays good (no bugs, slowdowns, or other issues noticed during the campaign). I don't know why people are complaining about controls, they're not that big of a deal. Way less buttons you need to remember than in MMOs, for example. Might be too many for a controller, I guess? LMAO, play a PC game on PC with at least proper mouse and keyboard (getting HOTAS is probably not worth it if this is your only game of this type).
I found the gameplay itself to be plenty fun in single player. Campaign story was decent (at least until the finale) with likeable characters. Definitely worth the 10$ or so I paid for it during a sale.
Now the negatives:
Game visuals are very inconsistent on lower settings. For some reason the default setting you get is "Auto", which I'm pretty sure forces minimum settings everywhere no matter what, change this ASAP. However, if your PC can't run maximum settings you may have a pretty bad time. For example, good looking ships right next to low-poly alien characters, or hair flickering, looking like there's a heat haze surrounding that character's head. I think this may be the source of that "my eyes hurt" effect some people are reporting (it was hurting my eyes too).
Going fullscreen makes the image washed out for some reason, so borderless is the only viable option.
The campaign is very short, but you probably knew that already. While "New Republic built a superweapon and now pilots of the Empire must fly through a narrow tunnel to blow it up from the inside" was a pretty nice role reversal, its execution left a lot to be desired. The amount of asspulls they had to cram into the last two missions in order to avoid actually killing any named characters was ridiculous and did not make any sense. In true Disney fashion, all Empire pilots were EVIL - either drunk on or desiring power and/or violence. The only one who had a half decent reason for it was Shen, which is probably why everyone likes him so much. Of course, all of the New Republic characters were pure good. This black/white split made the story worse, some ambiguity would've helped.
If this game had modding support for players to create their own missions/campaigns, it could've become the next FreeSpace 2, but it does not, and will probably end up forgotten instead.

Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.

This game does not function with PSVR2 sense controllers.

Doesn't work. Never managed to get the game to work.

Can't recommend any games from EA until they fix their support wing. This is a company that will sell you a broken product and refuse to help you with it.
