Solo Campaign Unplayable - Forces you to Buy Chief pkg.
Has anyone found a solution, I just want to test out the gameplay in Campaign Solo ..... .perhaps if really like it then buy some DLCs - TBD. It took forever to load to this screen and I have high end graphics card .... and updated all my drivers (AMD). So am making it to the right screen, but just says BUY Chief, no button that says no thanks or bypass.

The campaign is paid.

Wat. Campaign isn't free, same as every game. There are no DLCs (aside from campaign, if you want to call it that). Graphics cards have nothing to do with the loading screen.

No idea what "BUY Chief" means - are you sure it's this game?

These are the Halo Infinite forums. Infinite Multiplayer is free, and so is Forge. The only paid portions of Infinite are the Campaign, past battle passes/operations, and other various cosmetics.

The Master Chief Collection (aka the MCC) is a different set of games from the same franchise. All content in the MCC is paid, and categorized as DLC. You have to buy each title within the MCC if you want to access that title's Campaign and Multiplayer maps.

Either way, there is no free to play Halo Campaign, and there never was. Infinite's multiplayer being free to play is actually the first time in the franchise's history that part of the core game is free to play.

If you want a taste of the campaign for free, there's an option. Firefight is PvE with big maps you can run around on. There's a special event on right now with new maps and a campaign theme.

Mate, it's been over a decade since "free to play" actually meant free. It actually means "a tiny percentage of people susceptible to gambling addiction will pay for everyone else threefold." Thank companies like Blizzard for that. 343 is just along for the ride on the shady business train. Halo Infinite is actually one of the most benign "free to play" games, which is sad but that's the state of modern gaming.

Where is it saying Master Chief Collection? Or did you just mean it's the same character? Maybe you're just neuro-divergent struggling with words and I'm being mean, in which case I'm sorry for being a jerk.

Also, It technically doesn't say free to play. It says multiplayer free to play. The campaign is an option. I bought it before I realised multiplayer was free, because I'm old enough to remember ads for Halo 2 on TV. I paid the same price for Halo 2 in 2004 as I paid for Infinite, by the way.

Campaign is good if you liked the other FPS Halo games. Story is meh, but the sound design, graphics, and game play are great. Unless you're over 30, I think this is by far the best Halo game since Bungie was in charge.

it really is one of the best playing halo games and it's absolutely tragic how corporate has been allowed to run it into the ground

Just means you cant read; surely somewhere it mentions the fact that multiplayer is free to play whilst the campaign is paid. Its been that way since launch.

It's multiplayer that's free. There's also a PvE gamemode so you can 'test' the waters if you really want to. The steam store even says that the Multiplayer portion is F2P.
