Whats the problem with Elden ring on PC?
I have to say, trying to get to play Elden ring on PC is quite a hard task....

Start up game, white screen not responding, goes to a black screen and stays there for a while, goes to menu, freezes, I have a £1800 pc, what is going on?

I seen another post where the person explained doing a couple things on the command prompt, disk cleaning up some files, and repairing/downloading some v++ stuff, done all that, still the same.

Is this just how Elden ring is on PC?

Personally I didn't have any issues besides a few crashes

idk what causes issues on some PCs

I had no issues. Have been playing Elden since its day 1.

On 2 PCs I only had rare crashes, otherwise smooth sailing.

Yes it has an iGPU, yes it's off, yes the bios is updated, let's assume all the obvious things have been done.
I get some fps lag in the dlc near the water fall but other then that it runs smoothly.

is the game installed at drive C.
are really no background apps running ?
pagefiles is not disabled ?

without a detailed check i can no longer guess what is wrong

I understand you can't make a detailed check, but lets ask the bigger questions, not the common sense ones.

what common sense ones ? a background app check, device manager check, which service installed check and checking the correct settings anywhere is impossible over the forum.

beside this hardware checks with tools for correct function of Hardware and OS can not be "Questioned" it needs testing and analysis.

fact is my 7950x3d on a x670e motherboard with a 7600 xt gpu has not this issue.

to add, common sense is something on your system does not work correctly.

I'd say installing the game on the :c and making sure no background apps are running is pretty beginner stuff, I've checked device manager, it is not using my iGPU, all settings are corrected, I followed a set of instructions on another thread, done a health check on command prompt, repaired files, verified game files, removed temp files and any other useless junk, etc.

i have understand this far before you wrote this post and this is why there is no other guessing what could be the problem possible and analysis and deeper check would be needed what is going on at your system.

just a tip if you run windows 11 24h2 you already have a big problem with core overflow issues.

I run games that need a lot more than Elden ring and everything is fine, it's just Elden Ring.
