I would give this mixed reviews, but as we can't do that on Steam, I would give it positive review instead as I feel it's mixed but still leaning to positive.

+ Interesting premise and settings.
+ Decent, although not great, souls-like gameplay.
+ Considering the scale and the gameplay quirks, the not-too-hard difficulty of the game made the game more palatable.
+ Quite a lot of side quests to be done.
+ The dodge and the parry felt good.
+ Voice acting is not bad for an indie game.
+ Same thing for the music/sound.

- Balancing is not really well-thought.
- The amount of backtrack felt quiet tedious with this level design. Could be improved significantly if they decide to implement a map instead.
- Not a fun game for achievement hunters as it is beyond tedious.

At first blush I didn't care for the combat, but I stuck with it and really enjoyed using the "mallet" type weapons. I chose to pump strength and agility and had fun. The story was ok but the twists are easy to call. One issue was when I'd go to pickup an item on the ground I would get the item but couldn't get the "beacon" graphic to go away even after hitting the pickup button many times.
Overall it was a fun game.

Overall this is a solid game, I enjoyed my time with it. Give it chance you might like it.
Few bugs here and there but nothing some button mashing or returning to the main menu cant' fix.

My one and only issue with this game are the NPC's facial animations. Most of them, are just off putting, and few cases comedic.

I'm biased towards french, don't really care for it. However, I did enjoy the dialog and cutscenes when it came to the discourse between the characters, and how they would resolve issues that were shown in the story. At times it felt like I was watching a historical reenactment of french politics. The voice acting in this game was amazing. To all the english VAs involved in this game, a marvelous performance. Well done.

I recommend doing the side quests, some of them can impact the story. Also, I like the fact that my decisions
affect the story. It's not Mass Effect caliber story decisions. but enough were it has an impact. I wish more game developers force players to make a choice.

The developers did great in depicting a ruined France because of the actions of the tyrant king. The music added a flair of eeriness to the world. Had me on edge for a bit especially against enemy types that I dislike, got me to jump a couple times (I'm becoming soft lol).

The combat system is fairly straightforward, but there's enough depth to the weapons that provide engaging variety. The four weapons types provide satisfying combat loops, I mainly played with the dual weapons because I prefer being agile and counters. When it came down to the bosses of the game, there's two types area bosses and level bosses. Most of the level bosses were unique and interesting in terms in both combat and design. However, in my opinion after you learn the combat and get familiar with your preferred weapon. There not much of a threat or challenge for an exception of a few. I defeated most of the level bosses on the first attempt, while some took two or three attempts.
