I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game after its release in april from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, picked my character and world and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories. One of my favorite memories with him is seeing our whole planet turn green with water.

Just look up an image of "GPS Satellite T4" orbital rocket on Planet Crafter Wiki, to understand the technical level of the development team. It's so self-explanatory that it's almost genius.

This literally became the last drop for me, but up to this point, I've been already tired of:
1) resources floating in the air or being stuck in the ground (so they can't be picked up at all, or require several attempts from different tight angles)
2) huge rocks appearing or disappearing on approach
3) too blurry models even at a moderate distance (especially plants and flowers, which are sprites, but how they change their picture several times while you're approaching them is just plain ridiculous and ugly)
4) animations of large objects starting only at close range (and all of this on maxed out graphic settings, i7 + RTX 4070 Ti Super, seriously?)

Been following this game since its release in Early Access, loved it, hoped for technical improvements in the future, and...

The release turned out to be just more "endgame" content, and for this content, as an example, they attach two satellite dishes (!) to a nose (!!) of an (already existed before!) orbital (!!!) rocket... leaving basically all technical issues (which massively ruin the immersion, and that's the problem) as they were more than a year (!) ago.

For a game that made millions (which was proudly announced by the developers themselves), it's so... quirky, if not to say crooked, that I basically can't stand it right now, sorry. It's a unique game in a well demanded (and mostly empty) niche, very simple and atmospheric, though slightly ruined by a generic, unmemorable soundtrack (again, changed at the release). I'd say that I've enjoyed my hours spent, especially the first ~60 during the Early Access, but unfortunately, the latter additions didn't add much to the game rather than emphasized on its technical imperfection.

Lastly, If the GPS rocket doesn't convince you enough, here's another example: a large waterfall, full of water... that just disappears in the desert below. It even has the animation of waves floating in the air, like there's a river down below, but there isn't. There's a dry canyon full of stuff (including a shipwreck), and the waterfall is just an animation that simply ends there. The waterfall also happens to be a release content, a new location which wasn't there before, they wanted to add it for some reason, but the water could apparently ruin the previously existing biome... so they just left it as is. On a hand-crafted — I'd like to stress it here — not a randomly generated map.

To me, this is exactly how a labour of love turns into a cash grab, and with that said, I've had enough of it. I quit.
