I don't let reviewers dictate what game is fun or not. After decades of gaming, you are the best judge.
Personally didn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about helldivers 2 despite rave reviews lol.
I prefer the moment to moment gameplay and the shooting-feel (haptic feedback!) in Helldivers 2, but Exoprimal has some fantastic art direction.
If only Exoprimal launched with the same price point as Helldivers 2.. that really made a big difference for Helldivers.
Both are third person shooters where you fight hoards of enemies which can be played with four players co-op (up to 10 in Exoprimal).
Base edition of Exoprimal is 59,99, super citizen edition for Helldivers 2 is also 59,99 so the same price. In retrospect Exoprimal at launch did not had enough content to justify the price tag but now with the new maps and new exosuits I think it's worth the asking price, the game goes on sale frequently at 29,99 and I think it's a steal at that price point and IMHO it offers more replay value than Helldivers 2.
Exoprimal received tons of backlash for being a live service game with micro transactions which can be absolutely ignored since they are cosmetics only or early unlocks you get by just playing the game.
Helldivers is also a live service game but people seems to give it a free pass despite the fact that the game can be considered pay2win with it's cash shop and micro transactions.
Super Citizen edition is extremely optional though, meanwhile the 'Deluxe' version of Exoprimal costs $70. It's just too expensive for what you get.
Exoprimal is very different from Helldivers 2 in that it gives you a linear set of objectives, and it wants you to complete them as fast as possible. Helldivers 2 drops you in, but you are free to choose how to complete that mission. It plays out completely different, and like I said - Exoprimal can be frustrating if your team doesn't work well together - meanwhile Helldivers 2 is pretty funny even when you suck - this is why it's popular.
Helldivers 2 isn't pay2win, there was some talk about that but it really isn't. Also it is pretty generous in the 'paid' currency being obtainable in regular matches.
I really like Exoprimal, but it really shouldn't be compared to Helldivers 2...
Helldivers 2 solo is boring and garbage IMHO and there's no bots, Helldivers 2 is best played with others but playing with randoms sucks most of the times because of the friendly fire and griefers. Meanwhile you can play with randoms without any problems in Exoprimal and there's bots. Even if you lose because of bad teammates you still get something out of it in Exoprimal, failed mission in Helldivers 2 and you lose samples and bunch of XP.
I didn't say Helldivers 2's mission structure was randomly generated, I said that you and your teammates can choose how they play out. In Exoprimal each mission plays out linearly. You can say there isn't much variety - but I've had a lot of unforgettable moments play out, and all of those were caused by player actions.
What people like about Helldivers 2 is the unique situations that occur within all of its dynamic systems - this just doesn't really happen in Exoprimal. The world doesn't react to players, the environmental objects/cars don't even blow up (though some do? maybe I'm misremembering) - Exoprimal is very static and linear in those regards. That doesn't make Exoprimal worse, it just shouldn't be compared.
I guess we just disagree! That's fine, I'll continue to like both games for different reasons.

Haters gonna hate!
Vac banned accounts opinions are worthless and automatically invalidated.
Enjoy your overhyped game man, Exoprimal is lot more fun.
Wow your so salty you had to go deep on me
Game has been on life support since day 1...
As a live service game...this is quite possible the worst!
Only reason they havent shut it down is so they can finish up the obligated contracts in place, normally 12 months...If they cut the service short between that period they would need to mass refund buyers which Capcom are never gonna do,
I suspect they will have it be made available on PlayStation Plus real soon then announce the closure of the game/service!
I played it day 1 on Game Pass and i was bored to tears after only 4 hours of playing the same escort missions fighting the same dino raptors over and over again,
The game has no legs to walk nevermind run, Even i feel robbed and i gained access to it through Game Pass
