Can I use GDevelop without a paid subscription?
Yes. GDevelop can be used freely without restrictions. All the additional services are optional and not mandatory to create a game.
Isn't GDevelop free and open-source? Why premium plans?
GDevelop game engine and game editor are indeed free to use and open-source, under the popular MIT license.
The GDevelop company, founded by GDevelop core team members, have been building online services to easily build, publish, operate and monetise games made with GDevelop.
By getting a subscription, you get access to these services, which are perfect to take your game to the next level and reach out to a large audience of players.
I want to buy and own my software, not rent it month by month,
You may have watched GDevelop for Android. It really have an awful subscription plan, but... on PC it's free.
GDevelop : Everything works the same on all platforms.
CTF 2.5: effects used on PC may not work on Android. And the effects used for Android will not work for HTML5. Because CTF 2.5 is old game engine (uses DirectX). But it is your choise ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
that right :)
I perfer one time payment :)
