Surprisingly lacking in creativity. After all these years, I can still remember the monsters from the 1992 game: the monster in the attic, the ghouls, the bathroom thing, the dancing ghosts, the ghost in front of the mirror, the gargoyle... but unexpectedly for a remake this seems to have none of those. Instead it has some nondescript zombies, a bunch of completely unnecessary characters that add nothing to the story and the most boring RE/SH-style "puzzles".

The only thing going for it is the environmental art. The manor interiors look nice.

It's short'ish but a good game overall. Combat a little wonky but graphics,music and sound + HDR make this game a beauty. The atmosphere is great. Recommend but only at discount [short]

only for die hard Alone In The Dark or survival horror game fans. Small developement budget cleary visible. Animation is janky, story quite simple, sound goofy and graphics while beautiful somehow too sterile and simple. No weapon or character upgrades and very linear gameplay. recommend it only on discount. started as Emily and will finish the game with her but am not sure if i will do run with Edward afterwards.
