A bit of a late reply, but unfortunately, they don't add the "save to your email" thing until the sequel is almost finished.

So you can't save your current state for next time? What if I want to do another runthrough?

Restart and play it again? If you really want to save that specific playthrough you can try using CoG Save Manager[github.com] and save just before the "The End" part then just load it once they add the save system. This is what the creator of that software said about it:
