Thats the queen (his wife) and based on trailer there is a possibility of her playing some bigger role. You can see her leading army at one moment in the trailer video.

I was hoping / expected to play as the woman, but sadly, the main character was still the king. It feels like a bait and switch to me, and I stopped playing the demo.
