I see a lot of comments regarding performance which, as of writing this, seems to have been fixed.

Now we can focus on judging the game based on its own merits! If you enjoyed Nioh or Nioh 2, there's a very good chance Wo Long scratches the same itch so long as you don't require as tough a challenge this time around.

So let's get into the positives:
+Combat is a shining star
+Probably the most fun parry system in a game to date
+Multiplayer features work without a hitch
+Performance (now) is great
+Progression is (mostly) clear in each battlefield
+Build variety is just as varied and dense as Nioh 2
+Missions are long enough to engage but brief enough to encourage replayability
+Boss fights (so far) have been fast-paced and exhilarating
+Some really well-designed bosses with interesting mechanics
+Visually spectacular when things are flowing in the heat of combat
+Readily-available tutorials and encyclopedia help make sense of all of the important terms and systems
+Self-contained story with decently satisfying conclusion

As for the negatives:
-Overload of loot (classic Team Ninja)
-English VO is a can of creamed corn
-Some animations and visuals look pretty rough by 2023 standards
-Easier than most games of its category (my negative may be your biggest positive)
-You will spend hours in menus deciding what to sell and salvage and min/max for small gains
-Stats and numbers so dense I sometimes feel like I'm looking at a spreadsheet in the menus (I have since learned to make sense of it all but it still feels like an assault on the eyes)

Final Thoughts: As a veteran of the Soulslike genre I greatly enjoyed my playthrough of Wo Long and plan to continue playing it well into completion of the NG+ mode. It's not nearly as difficult as its predecessors Nioh 1 or 2, but there were still challenges from time to time. The lack of difficulty didn't really bother me though, because I was just having such a good time parrying my way through each battlefield. I'm also a sucker for completion so I enjoyed searching each area top-to-bottom finding all of the cicada shells and panda-things.

It's an 8.5/10 from me, chief. Sandwiched right between Nioh 1 and Nioh 2 in terms of an overall package.

Frametime stutters and input lag in a game where precise timing is important.
