I'm supposed to "gain a bargaining chip" by confronting the guy after Pattio learns his identity, but I can't figure out how to get near him. The woman is forcing me onto the train so I can't talk to him. Am I misunderstanding the directions?

I've had Braith give the dog mask guard the guitar, then rewound to give the guard the racket. Now I want to rewind again and give the guard the guitar once more. I do that, but in the next stage the guard still hands the racket to Mandy. What do I need to rewrite so the racket "sticks" this time?...
