I'm trying to play this game on Linux . The first thing I did was to switch to proton and install UplinkOs because the UI was unuseable - many icons were missing or corrupted and the text was tiny! UplinkOS seemed to work - at least everything looked really good, but whenever I try and register a new agent I am told that a fatal error occurred - without any further information. The only suggestion I could find online was to rename a file Opengl32.dll.bak to Opengl32.dll - which I did, but it didn't help....

I played base Uplink years ago, and a few months ago I found Onlink and after jumping through hoops I got a download for it. In trying to find guides for it while playing I stumbled across the Kite mod, well more just the mention that Kite is a mod that seems to be a successor to Onlink. I don't know much about either mod to be honest other than Onlink is dead, so I was wondering what are the differences? Is Kite also dead (I mean it is quite the old game to be fair)?...

I dunno how to do it, I only know how to close all connections and logout (which is by clicking the top left corner cross button)

Maybe someone will help me understand why am I keep losing? I'm always connecting thru InterNIC and clearing logs after every connection (even to Uplink Internal Services System), never hacked bank untill I've got motion sensor and nuke, tracking never come down to less than 100 seconds left and I keep looking at motion sensor all the time as soon as I've it installed.
