help with food court

no idea what is going on. feels like components are missing or things are not explained properly. i finished opus magnum and infinifactory so its not a case of being new to the insanely tough puzzles these guys make. just feels like im missing something crucial. in the instructions seems like im missing a machine? i can get the base taco to go in the box? help please

You can buy additional machines (Space button by default, I guess a scanner is required for the first level but is not there by default - I got the same question/issue after trying to solve the first level just with what was there)

Came here to ask the exact same thing. Was there a "buy machines" button that I missed?

Kudos for getting through the instructions. What in the world were those!? It was like a second-hand translation of pig-latin. Finished the D&D levels, 'downloaded' the cooking game, read the instructions and immediately quit to never play the game again.

What was the issue? It's one of the games in BBS with the most clear instructions. It's also the one that's most like Zachtronics other games.
