FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Here are our answers for some frequently asked questions:

Can I remap controls?
Yes, controls are fully remappable for both Keyboard and Gamepad.

Does it support Ultrawide monitors?
Yes! :)

Does it run at 60 FPS
Yes, that's the default target frame rate. Graphics options settings should allow this performance on all supported systems.

Does it support controller / keyboard?
Yes, both can be used exclusively.

What engine did you build it in?
The game is built on heavily modified Unity engine.

How long is the game?
As it's a Roguelike game, winning any single run is very dependent on both skill and RNG. The game has enough content to be enjoyable and challenging for 10+ hours at any skill level.

How long is each run?
A full run in Early Access should take around 40-50 minutes, depending on playstyle. In the final version, it will take longer.

Is it replayable?
Yes, in fact that's one of our main design goals!

Is there multiplayer, co-op, how does it work?
We might add "couch co-op" eventually, where two players can each control an on-screen ship. There is no online multiplayer planned.

When will it be released?
The game will be released into Steam Early Access on July 15 2024.

Will there be a demo?
Yes, there a demo of the full version live now! Go play it! :D

Will there be achievements?
Yes, there will be many!

Will it have DRM?
No, there will definitely be no DRM in the game.

Any plans to support Linux / Mac / Consoles
There are no plans for Linux / Mac at the moment. We would like to port the game to consoles once the PC version comes out of Early Access.

Is there a way to save in the middle of a run and return to that run later?

There is currently no in-run saving, but we are working on it. We are going to be adding "start of level" saves first, and then eventually we plan to have per-room saves as well.
That would be very helpful! I currently have a very crappy laptop that I've been playing Galactic Glitch on and it ALWAYS ends up overheating and shutting the game off after 3 or 4 levels, so I've never been able to get any further than that since I have to start over every time I open the game again...

Hi openfraine, with the new update to version 0.115 you can try launching the game in "Steam Deck" mode, which uses Vulkan graphics API. It is known to be more effective and cause less overheating on some systems. The downside is that it doesn't launch or work well on older graphics cards. I'm not sure exactly what your system setup is, but it might be worth a try!

Can you tell us exactly how to do that? Is it a launch option string we must input in General options beforehand? Does it happen automatically when I launch on my deck? Providing more specific info in the patch notes would've been ideal

Hi weens, you just launch the game normally, then select "Play on Steam Deck". It's that easy!

Okay, I'll try that! I did notice that launch option pop up last time I tried to play, and I was like, "Why would I want to do that, I don't have a Steam Deck," but I'll give it a try now!
