Personally I don't like a multimedia approach to game lore. However, unfortunately it seems that this has become popular as of late. Games, for example five nights at freddies and poppy's playtime have done and are still doing this. Making a website, making comics you need to buy to understand the game.... it isn't just silly, it's frustrating. Why does someone who plays games need to watch youtube or a website or manga for a game... it makes little sense.

I expect that no player wants to actually do stuff outside of the game, even if the game's lore forces them to in order to understand it. I am not sure how people can expect a player to go search youtube, without any given hints in game, for this game's "animation series" on a channel that is mostly filled with jokes and memes and doesn't even have a single playlist, for a few videos that look clearly like fanworks. Only to later find out that the Fan Wiki assumes these videos as Lore valid / truth, which would mean that the developer, through some partnership, is now publishing the story that should be within the game, outside of it.

Anyway so long it isn't visible in the game, I don't consider any of it canon to the game's lore. Even if the wiki pretends its otherwise. lol
There may or will be a mismatch in how I understand the game as such.

And if you need evidence as to why this idea of making youtube videos valid lore for the game is just dumb or stupid, just look at the OP's post, clearly they haven't found out about this youtube channel.

Well, Habu did respond on my discussion when No Shiki released, essentially confirming with a simple "yes" that Nightmare Mode is apparently coming out. How much truth there is in that - I do not know, but I wouldn't put my life savings on that promise.

I paid for the game because I really wanted to support the developer for creating such a beautiful, challenging game. If I knew he would abandon it all these years later, I would have just pirated it. I absolutely hate developers who do this BS.

The same things were also said about Resident Evil 4 Remake's Separate Ways DLC, Resident Evil: Village's 2022 DLC, the Current-Gen Update for Fallout 4 (Which came out as a Disaster, Due to Problems such as even more Bugs/Glitches being added to the game and mods no longer being usable), a Visual Novel game (I cannot mention here, even though it is not NSFW, but I know how the Mods Operate, but besides that, the game is still getting Updates on the game's Development), Grand Theft Auto 6 (We already know it's coming, especially since Rockstar Games already gave Us a Trailer for the game, back in December), Spy x Anya: Operation Memories (The game was already Confirmed for a Release Date, and it is now Available, there was also a Baseless Claim the game wasn't releasing on Steam a Day before the Console Releases), The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Back then, it was Breath of the Wild 2) being Cancelled, etc..

Besides that, my point is, don't believe a word from BroJohn, and such, Okay?

Besides, we all already know the Update is Coming very Soon, it's just Nobody knows, except for Habupain and Possibly Imagination Clash, so it's just Internal Knowledge for them, for now.
