Its a fun game if you have the time to grind. Its more of a looter shooter type of game with a little tower defense (kind of like a cherry on top when finishing a tour unless you go for endless mode). If you've ever played 7 days to die or rust before with x1 loot, this is more forgiving than that. A Base defense game with a mix of rts and fps.

Pros:
-Build your dream base (may it be with lots of turrets or with a mix of mechs like the feel of copying the idea of archangel and gundams in gundam seed)
-HORDES!! which is based on your loot. More loot=More boom boom
-Customization of weapon skills (xen).
-Grinding feels worth when you get that specific loot for your build

Cons:
-Clunky robot animation
-Fps drop once you build a lot of turrets and fires at the same time combined with when horde comes
-Map is repetitive so you know where to look once you've done it before
-Easy multiplayer boost. You get tons of high end gear if you play with them which could ruin the experience but is somewhat barred by finding the research project on your tours.
-Some description needs more explanation so you need to figure it out rather than just understanding it by reading which takes time from killing more robots

Neutral:
-Story is fine.
-This game's graphics are really good but you need better gear so its just neutral for me
-A part of the game needs multiplayer but most of it can do solo just like I did if you know what you want and need
-Lots of people keep commenting bugs but I haven't really ran into one yet
-Voice acting is fine not good not bad.

///At its price from my date of post, this game is very much worth it. Sure you need a good gear to run it, but even at the minimum spec, its still good unless graphics is a big issue for you. It is a must buy once it's one sale for sure!!///

Edit: I forgot to mention that the devs suck for not making the vanguard a dlc but rather an entirely separate thing to buy. So beware when buying. You either buy the standard and stick with that or buy the vanguard edition. If you buy standard and want the vanguard edition after getting a feel for the game (like me), you need to buy the whole price for the vanguard edition which sucks!! The turret from the vanguard edition doesn't really change much for the game anyway but still. The idea of it is either a cash grab or they really didn't think this through. Still outpost is still a good game so meh.

Tl:dr edit- Buy one edition and stick with it. Dev sucks for not making vanguard edition upgrade like a dlc when buying the base game.

Didn't want to believe the reviews but this game has a steep learning curve. You spend an insane amount of time hunting down junk 4+ hours a run just to have it come together requiring you to survive 100-400 seconds of TD with capped towers, capped resources and capped bullets. Winning the TD feels like there's very little you can do but hope and keep the guns bullets topped up. The grind is pretty bad, and you'll run out of inventory space by the second area.

Horde mode feels unrewarding as it doesn't fix the punishment for mission failure, which is losing all your stuff, and operative when you die. You take the host's current base into the match and at some point you are going to run out of bullets and lose from a lack of resources.

There's good ideas here but it feels dragged out and unfinished. You'll discover things way before the tutorial missions cover them and be missing details to progress early missions that are only covered in later tutorial missions meaning you'll have to google how to progress.

I am really surprised that this game is not more popular than it is. I must say that it's definitely been my favourite game of the year, combining all of my favourite genre's into one game! The steady stream of updates has kept the game fresh and I am just enthralled with the game play loop. I maybe can count on one hand the amount of games I have played over 100 hours and I almost always get bored and never finish them. My +140 is proof enough that I have really enjoyed this. I hope that the developers keep up their current rate of updates and I just wanted to thank them for the great work that they have done.
