Unfortunately i didn't like this game.
The gameplay is very repetative, locations are pretty empty and battles are really boring. In 6 hours i haven't found any new weapons (except throwing knives and surikens, but that are consumables, and i mean real weapons). I have felt growth, but no changes (wow, i have upgraded my sword and now it deals not 5, but 10 damage!!! i can now kill enemies with different models, but completely same attack patterns twice as fast!!) I have visited some places that are meant for later porgression that i am, and these locations aren't harder, just enemies are more tanky and that's all. You can literally explore for minutes with intend for battle, and not find anyone, and even if you find someone, it will be just the same enemy as the ones that you have met at the start. The only differences are stats and visuals. Also in 6 hours i haven't found any new weapons except the start sword. Even spells are almost useless. If i want to be a mage, i want to use at least fome sort of magic arrow or some simple attacking spell, but no, i got only charm, that is useless, because 90% of time there is only 1 enemy to fight, and in 9 of the other 10% i also need better charm.
This game has the potential. World is really beautiful, enemies look unique, story is decent enough, but there should be also interesting gameplay and different tools to interract with world. Maybe they are obtainable later, but if i need to play game more than 6 hours so it becomes interesting, i would better spend this time in some other game.

Once again proving the fact that everyone but Bethesda can make a good Bethesda game.

Go in blind, don't level might, and explore wherever you can.

Combat is simple, and even on hard difficulty, trivial; if build-making, challenge, or mechanical depth are what you look for in an RPG, this isn't it. The world-building, writing, and atmosphere are what carry this game - and they carry hard. You're here to explore a tumultuous, alien world, and navigate all the gruesome moral dilemmas that exist within - not murderhobo your way to glory. Ultimately combat is not that important, and is in fact wholly optional.

This game is brilliant, although not for everyone. Well worth the full price, and a total steal if you catch it on sale.

First ever morrowind-like I have seen. Despite first glance the delusion system, in my opinion, is actually fun. getting "exp" from exploration and quests rather than hunting enemies is something I quite like. (Though take this with a grain of salt as I personally find grinding in video games to be the most boring inane task ever conceived). You are also still rewarded for killing baddies, as they have guaranteed drops of coin, health, etc. Overall, I would highly recommend this game. Story is interesting, world is fantastic, and the system is fun.

I love the ambience. However this is a game, and there is basically no game play.

The RPG elements are just a couple stats, Str (damage) agility (Unlock doors for EXP and speed which you will need to make the game not unbearable), lore (spellcasting and...unlock doors for EXP) and charm (...unlock doors for EXP.) You will inevitably get enough experience to max almost everything. Taking STR early is a trap that just makes getting EXP slower.

You will find that you really just want to boost your speed and cast the sprint spell to to zip around the landscape ignoring all of the nothing that's around. A really large majority of the game is filled with weak pointless enemy encounters which are better to run past in almost all circumstances. This is really exacerbated because nearly every quest is a fetch quest. The most efficient way to play is to take every quest available, zip around the map, and then turn them in. Then back track in the region 10 more times for the main quest.

The reason to run past the enemies is simple. They have the most basic AI possible. Walk at you, attack. That's it. They all move at the same speed and share the exact same combat patterns. The only variance is enemy appearance. They don't strafe and there are no combat abilities the player has other than attack, backpedal and fire various colored projectiles. That's really all there is to combat. Oh, I suppose there is one other enemy type: Fire projectiles and just stand there.

99% of upgrades are meaningless except for their ability to lead to more "lore" though I don't really see the appeal. The majority of the lore locked behind upgrades is "This place really sucks". The lore behind quests is much better though a far cry from most books/mangas/manhuas you can acquire for free online (Lord of the Mysteries blows the plot out of this universe). Each area puts you into a dilemma between two bad options. I personally don't find that very deep, it only serves to make me care LESS about any decision because all outcomes just create more suffering or a different kind of suffering or just death. To me that makes any decision carry no weight or responsibility. "Eh, you're doomed either way little guys".

All in all aesthetically appealing with great ambience and no gamplay makes this a $19 walking simulator pretending to be an RPG like Morrowind.

It's a serviceable if repetitive game, very much saved by the fact that you can boost your movement speed into the stratosphere, and flying across the landscape is always fun. Any nostalgia factor the game might have had is extremely hampered by the constant reminders that the game was made in 2024. I couldn't help but notice that none of that stuff was in the first few hours of the game, either, almost as if someone wanted to make sure you couldn't refund it...

Heard this game described as "if Bethesda made a game for the N64" -- sounds about right. Lots of exploration, solid world building

It's hard to describe why this game resonates so much with me, but playing it, exploring the world, talking to the NPCs and leveling my character gave me one of the most fun experience with a game I have had in a while.
It's a relatively small RPG, especially compared to most RPG experiences nowadays. But it knows what it wants to do and it's doing it well. The world is filled with content and details. It doesn't unnessesairily draw itself out. Combat feels comfy and you can experiment quite a bit between different weapons and spells. It's not hard or complex by any means but it's fun and that's what mattered to me.
Exploration is at most times rewarding enough and the fast and responsive movement makes it fun to just speed through the world. I was enticed by the story, the design, the aesthetic in general and wasn't let down at all.
All in all this game was incredibly fun in the best ways and it surprisingly scratched the King's Field itch I have in a similar way that Lunacid did.

Lovely story, clockwork kingdom in particular was a highlight!
