Controller support

I think the game looks really cool and you did mention in the trailer that console versions are planned, but I just wanted to specifically ask if you plan to include controller support in the PC version at some point. It would help me enjoy the game much better for health reasons....

Warstride Challenges is like the speedrunning mod of Doom with short levels to be precision-jumped, moved and shot. From the start you get a jump, slo-mo and a slide (while which you can turn the camera left/right to shoot). The disposable weapons are specific for each level. Your abilities stay the same for a bit too long into the campaign. Later more fun mechanics are introduced which spice things up a lot:

a shockwave attack
a pulling grapple hook
stomp (in-air downward dash attack)
the rocket launcher and with it comes rocket jumping
enemies which can only be killed by a 360° no scope shot
enemies which can only be killed by a front flip / back flip shot. Yeah, you gotta turn that camera for the flip manually! This is one of the few FPS like Severed Steel where it's possible to turn the camera beyond your feet in mid-air and completely go crazy with it. This is super awesome!

You beat a level with its minimum time which is easily doable. The platinum times to be beaten, though, are pretty challenging!

The flow of the game is really good, like do a slide jump around the corner, slo-mo on the correct time to aim at the near enemy appearing, splatter its blood onto the wall with the shotgun, switch to the assault rifle to take down a bunch of small exploding spiders, pull the lever while switching to the sniper rifle, take down a big enemy and sprint through the open final gate.

The level design is linear except for a few fun special stages. This is fine, the game does a good job on guiding you on the path by placing enemies in sight for you to know where to go. Though, it's also possible sometimes to not find the right way, especially when it's going back and forth. There are many small dead end rooms with a lever to use or some buttons to shoot for the next door to open. This and stomping groups of enemies gets used a bit too much and level design could have been made more varied.

The biggest negative for me is that there is only one song. It's metal and cool, but hearing this song on 180+ levels again and again is too repetitive and quite annoying. Eventually I turned the music off and put on my metal playlist. The Metal Hellsinger playlist also fits perfectly here!

There is a cool multiplayer option like in Trackmania where you get a set time and all players have this much time to perform their best time on this level's race. But yea, you guessed it, multiplayer is dead, this is an indie game after all.

Pretty cool is the level editor and the community content. You can play many good player made levels. Though there are no leaderboards on the custom levels. Leaderboards are globally available only for the devs' levels.

I liked this game for its brutally difficult challenges of getting platinum times while doing all kinds of cool moves, shots and weapon switches. This game is not for the casual audience, but is easily recommended if you like speedrunning!
