We have a brand new development update to share with you about StarRupture, and this time we’re taking you on a thrilling journey to a planet far away...

Have you ever wondered how developers create completely new game worlds? How do we approach making new, mysterious, sci-fi sceneries? How do we make them believable and fresh at the same time? As we were also looking for various inspirations, we finally discovered a perfect match that perfectly corresponds to our idea of a world in a constant cycle of death and rebirth. So we traveled to Iceland!

This and other inspirations, completely new behind-the-scenes shots at our studio at work, are the main heroes of our brand-new StarRupture Environment Showcase. Join Basia, Ola & Kamil from our environment team on this journey, as they will unravel some fascinating aspects of our game in the video below:

I hope StarRupture doesn't end like Coreborn

From what I've seen StarRupture looks really promising. They went from patch 0.12.2 of Early Access to full release in a couple of months, I can imagine the game is not really completed but was rushed to earn some last sales like many devs sadly do. Hi, we're Creepy Jar, the Polish studio best known for our hardcore realistic survival simulator, Green Hell. Aside from supporting the title with new free updates, we're hard at work on our next title, StarRupture.

Being built in Unreal Engine 5, StarRupture is an ambitious cross between base building, exploration, combat, and resource management on an alien planet torn by a catastrophic cycle of destruction caused by its life-giving star.

In this episode of our devlog, we’re shedding more light on one of the core pillars of StarRupture: base-building!

In this episode, Adam - our Product Marketing Manager, will be your host to smoothly guide you through this episode's talking points, and our wonderful and talented devs will chat about the game’s mechanics and what you can expect to find in StarRupture when it debuts in Early Access on Steam.

During this short journey to the dangerous world of our sci-fi planet, Kacper (Concept Designer) will discuss the creation of a world with futuristic technology, and our take on a power system based on electric conductivity. Bozhena (Senior Hard-Surface Artist) will reveal the creative process behind designing and making structures for your base. Julek (Lead Programmer) will talk in detail about the drone automation system that will help you automate your base and how you can set it up.

Will we be forced to have an account via third-party?

More and more games are now requiring people to register an account with them before you can enjoy the game, which I simply refuse to do. Will your game require this?

I hate to ask, I know it's annoying and obviously delays can happen but there doesn't seem to be even a ballpark online. (still looking though) Did the devs release any loose goals yet?

It's a survival game, so that's what I want

There are already many similar games, so just like other games Don't fill it with under-made monsters. Please no silly cut wood, build cabin approach!

If it's a science fiction game, don't take the approach used by some other games, making us restart at a prehistoric level and forcing us to build a log cabin. You are imaginative enough to propose a survival challenge without resorting to these rancid and unrealistic tropes!...
