When I put 3 berries in my inventory and cooked 3 fruit salad, it took 9 berries from the chest and consumed the 3 I had, for a total of 12 berries.
the only way to avoid losing extra ingredients is to cook by hitting the Experiment button and only make one at a time.
This demo was awesome;
25 hours of play per save
Tru game demo right there
(since it usually take me like 3 months to save to buy a game)

Notes:
Control mapping issue.
Duel controlling sometimes breaks.
Boat driving and Gampad controlling does not work as well as arrow keys
Not every item listed and shown in demo can be fully unlocked and tested
(that was a bit annoying)
One of the test citizens disappears ( muscle bound tiger dude- bad with names)
Run all over the island and some days hes no where to be found.
Not sure if in the demo the random item respawner is broken
but demo items don't respawn in some area even after 31 days
also the tourism spending seem to be kinda sometime the demo tourists give money some days they don't...
I hope you plan on fixing that water can and garden pot in the full version.
and adding sprinklers because that gardening was a bit annoying:
not know how long a crop takes to grow, to water and not being able to lift and move a pot. (its a garden planter after all)
i do like the plant dig and repot premise might want to address that in a bug fix at some point seems a bit buggy to me...
fun demo
