Howdy y'all!

We're riding into Gamescom this year with Wild Bastards! The show takes place August 21-25 in Cologne!

We will be in the Indie Arena Booth and will have an extended demo available to play. It will feature the first hands-on with Judge. And if you can't make it, you're in luck! We will also have the extended demo playable on Steam.

A bit dissapointed with this one

This game is not like Void Bastards at all. I've expected the same approach with level generation, some kind of immersive-simness, but I've got a visual novel with a little bit of stiff FPS game play that seems like it is not as responsive as in Void Bastards. Also it has too much of a dialogue, like the developers were highly influenced by the design of Hades, which IMO is not fit for the game. Also the turn-based map for every planet seemed confusing and worse than stations in Void Bastards. Idk, it ...

Character Introduction: Roswell

The top secret outlaw of Wild Bastards!

Howdy y'all

Today we have a rundown of the gang's most secretive outlaw that the Men in Black didn't want you to meet: Roswell!

Bio:

After fleeing a catastrophic crash landing on Earth, Roswell spent over 1,000 years in Area 51. He could have been out sooner had you all stormed the facility like you were supposed to.

Nonetheless, after an accidental protocol breach, Roswell escaped and made it off Earth, winding up in the Calamity sector of the frontier.

Roswell wants to go home, but home may not exist anymore...

Weapon: Self-Loading Raygun

Damage: Medium
Range: Short
Rate of Fire: High
Ammo Capacity: Low
Special Notes: You don't have any ammo, but you need to be careful to avoid overheating your gun!

Roswell can do a lot of damage and easily get rid of enemies with low HP. However, be careful against more solid enemies; one full load might not be enough!

Stunt: Blast Off

Blast Off makes Roswell jump multiple times in 10 seconds, with each impact creating an explosion on the ground. This is perfect for clearing enemies when they are distant from each other or simply hiding everywhere.

In Conclusion

Roswell is a versatile character, thanks to his stunt, but could take advantage when teaming up with a character with some real firepower!

Character Introduction: Preach

Beware our most righteous outlaw of Wild Bastards: Preach!

Howdy y'all

Today we have a rundown of our devoted outlaw, Preach. Church has faith in you, Preach has bullets for you!

Bio:

Valia "Preach" O'Neil was adopted as a baby by a deeply religious human pastor and his wife. At age 14, her skin turned blue, and extra fingers grew...

Valia turned out to be a polymorphic alien. The Pastor became enraged and attempted to kill her. Mother tried to protect her, but he made it clear they were both guilty in the eyes of his lord.

Valia stopped him with a Gatling gun.

Weapon: Gatling Gun

Damage: Medium
Range: Short/Medium
Rate of Fire: High
Ammo Capacity: High
Special Notes: Rata tata!

Preach is pretty comfortable dealing with multiple sinners, the Gatling gun offers her a good way to deal with a lot of enemies.

However, Preach is there to shoot many bullets, not to aim. Her accuracy is her low point, you'll need to use mods to avoid being a short-range fighter.

Stunt: Sermon

Sermon allows Preach to heal on each hit for 10 seconds, this is the perfect skill to deal with difficult situations.

In Conclusion

Preach is the perfect pick to deal with many enemies with low health points but will struggle against High-health lawmen.

Seriously? A literal flaming skeleton that shoots fire from is fingers can "catch on fire" — from his own flames — and burn to death. I'm at a loss for words. I'm also not even sure which cause for this would be worse; an egregious oversight or "just don't think about it" hand wave....

Phenomenal Demo

I found this game on a whim (haven't played Void Bastards so I'm coming in fresh) and I absolutely LOVE it. Even with only three of the thirteen playable characters I've already found so many tricks and maneuvers and I've had an absolute blast. Me and my other six friends have all become obsessed with this game and we all marked September 12th in our calendars, love what the dev team has done so far and I'm super excited for what comes next!! Absolutely excited to play as Rawhide and Roswell ^^...

This game isn't ready in 2 months

My core issue with this game is that it lacks the depth of it's spiritual predecessor. I can accept Wild Bastards is not Void Bastards. However: - Most of the actual 'game' is the game board- NOT the FPS sections. There are interesting decisions to be made on the game board- but VB did a better job at treating the gameboard as a strategic element to the meat of the game. You spend 5 minutes in the FPS fights whereas you can easily spend more time deciding which planets to go, which decisions to min/max on...
