"Audio Mode" - Turn off screen, keep audio playing

I'd really like to be able to play YouTube, videos, and music while enjoying their audio only. Ideally, I should be able to use the Deck in this capacity as I would a smartphone or tablet: screen off, specialized controls for audio, non-essential processes put to sleep. SteamOS has improved wildly in just a few weeks, thank you for your work.

would be nice if they had media key bindings on the global controller settings (play/pause, rwd, ffw) and supported any MPRIS audio player in Gaming Mode through it

on desktop mode you should be able to at least configure the deck to black the screen after X time idle

this would be a nice feature improving the multimedia capabilities of the device

Bumping this, the only way to achieve this right now is very dumb : Dim the screen to the max, then open a black png and put it full-screen

There's something close to what RGB has mentioned in the form of an easier-to-use DeckyLoader plugin, where you can use a button combo to turn a black overlay on and off. With an LED this would only make the screen show black, but still be lit- but with an OLED, should you have it, the black overlay makes the screen essentially be 'turned off' while still being able to play audio.
