In the colonization game folder itself (the one with colonization.exe), you should have the files tbb.dll and tbbmalloc.dll. If not, copy them to this location. They are in the "copy to exe" folder in the mod itself.
The correct number of folders are required. There should be Mods\WeThePeople\Assets\CvGameCoreDLL.dll. The WeThePeople name is optional. If there is an extra layer of folders, then it won't work. If the dll file is missing, then you might have ended up with the wrong zip file. You can download from here[github.com] and you need the file named WeThePeople-4.1.zip
I hope this helps.
The files were there but I copied the files from the "copy to exe" folder and pasted them in the main folder.
The error message the game is giving me (it give me the option to load game settings but the game itself wont run) is saying:
Python Exception:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "PbMain", line 40, in update
File "PbMain", line 415, in update
File "PbAdmin", line 279 in update
IndexError: list index out of range
I think I'm running 1.0.0.1 right now. When I downloaded the 1.01f patch and tried to install it, it says it can't find the game?
The mystery is that the error in question is completely unknown as we haven't seen it before. What makes you special to get an error nobody else is getting?
What precisely are you doing and when do you get this error?
The readme/install instructions are in the process of being rewritten. You only need to patch if you install from the CD release from 2008. DVD or any digital download comes prepatched. No idea why the readme was written to assume people use the CD version.
When I get that error, I've launched the mod, gone through game setup, but after clicking start, as the game is trying to load, it then gives me that message.
I had to go to properties and UNCHECK run with windows 8 compatibility.
All the other instructions worked as intended.
