What an absolute hidden gem, I'm so glad I played Astlibra. Combat's simple yet very fun, same with exploring and unlocking everything. The story, while slow to start, really picks up and goes in interesting directions towards the end. I don't think I've played anything quite like it before.

Very fun game. The combat is punchy and satisfying, there are plenty of weapons and armor to collect, as well as secrets to find and side-challenges to do. I'm also a fan of the art style, and the music is great.

I can appreciate that others like this game, but for me personally it falls flat. I played the demo first and between the flashing boss scenes, smooth action and punchy music I thought for sure this game would rope me in. What happened? I got bored. Pretty quickly. 9 hours in. The game feels like a bit of a grind. The combat and 2d side scroller action is fun, but not enough to make me want to continue playing it. The story didn't have me hooked and wanting to continue playing. It's OKAY. For a person looking for this type of game it might even be great.
