How do I drop my item (Contains spoilers)

I'm currently running from The Doctor, and it expects me to grab the battery first before pulling a plank off a crawling hole, and for whatever reason, I can't drop the item. There's also nowhere else to go but that direction because The Doctor has blocked every other path, and I can't use my other hand because it's sabotaged. What's the button on the keyboard to drop my item?

I encountered this as well, unable to drop the battery whatever I clicked, whatever I did.

I found a workaround. When you go to the latch from the other side (the one you would exit off) and pull the board, you cannot break the board, but the hand is kind of stuck on it trying, so just keep your hand on it and run around the block to the location of the battery and there release your hand as you would when breaking the boards.

This broke the board for me, so I could grab the battery and finish the run.
