I'm considering buying this, but why are the recent reviews mixed? Is there something I should be aware of before buying?

Game really needs a map.

I like the game, but I really wish Hilda looked more like Minerva. I'm just not super interested in playing as a 12 year old girl. Is there any way to make her look like she's at least in her 20's?

People calling this a"souls-like" really seem to have no clue what a "souls-like" actually is. This is an action-adventure game with some light RPG mechanics.

I like the aesthetics of bracelets but they are so pitifully weak. I just got to the shelter, upgrade them to +2 and even then every other weapon outperforms them. The morphs seem to be stronger but the charge up takes so long that I could easily kill my target with the other weapons while the bracelets are charging... Worst of all is since the first and second attack are multi-hits, I find them missing 70% of the time, with only the first hit being registered. So what should be multiple hits of 40 end...
