What happened with sparkle?
Was sparkle just another collateral victim or was there a specific clue I missed?

I think the rest of the story goes as follows; Dad and Nanny had a secret affair (the kiss mark on photo & condoms), until Dad realizes the affair poses too big of a risk to his family, so he ends up murdering the Nanny. The Nanny comes back as a ghost, curses the new family that moved into her old house, and brings Tina and Oliver with her to death.
