do stocks do something now?

I know before stocks were a coming soon thing, buying them did nothing. Do they do something now?

Hi! We are working on the stocks, but it's really hard to tell you the exact timeframe when we are done with it - we will keep you updated tho! :)

I could have sworn that stocks are paying me each turn. I bought another studio 51%, and making $2 million each turn... but I cannot outright own the other studio. I wish there was a way to buy it out, and even make a sequel to another film.
