This is a very reluctant recommend. I cannot exaggerate how much I disliked the gameplay featured in Laika. It's repetitive, trial and error with really no redeeming qualities.

That said, for as much as I dislike the gameplay, I adored everything else about Laika. The art and soundtrack are amazing and the story is pretty good.

If you're someone who can ignore a lot of bad gameplay design choices in favour of some excellent art, then i'd recommend Laika

please play this game. its amazing and terribly depressing. every time you think things cant get worse, they do. it uses the 2d motorcycle gameplay similar to the trials series (or those coolmath flash games if you are young) along with added combat with different weapons. the art style is beautiful with everything being hand drawn, and occasional animated cutscenes. every area has a unique environment with tons of artistic detail and environmental storytelling hidden in the background. just play this game.

What an utterly superb game. Unique controls, compelling story, gorgeous animations, and an absolute banger of a soundtrack. Stays with you long after you've finished the game. Masterpiece.
