Is this like smash your bros? Because I/m pretty good at that

I was one of the day 1 players back when you could buy the different editions of the game. I've seen this game at it's worst and it's best. Not gonna give a long review, but will will say a few things, starting with: DO NOT PLAY.

Back in the alpha or whatever this crappy company called it, everything was CRISP. You could infinitely dodge no matter what character you played. Yeah, some characters were OP, but if you were good enough you could counter them. A few months from that initial release the playerbase tanked due to lack of content and imagination and they closed the servers "claiming" the game was in a early access state or that it was actually some kind of beta test.
So fast forward to whenever the heck they rereleased the game, and it was HORRIBLE. They slowed down everything, dodges, attacks. They removed the spam combos (which is a good thing) we, the founders apparently lost alot of our founders currency and whatnot. I didn't really care about that. I grinded the game and still unlocked everyone, but i can see how that would have angered alot of people at the time. They ruined a few of my favorite characters such as iron giant and steven. Yeah iron giant has a infinite combo which i never used. But he was fast enough back then to be able to keep up with some of the other characters. havn't even talked about the MICROTRANSACTION SHOP.
Call me old school, call me stupid, but MTXs have ruined this game, and gaming in general. You want to play to unlock a skin, profile pick, banner, emote, badges? Well you're playing the wrong game. You want anything, you have to fork out money. Battlepass i can understand. heck, fortnite does it and they're still striving. But locking that much content behind a paywall and not giving at least something as a reward for players spending time in the game or completing something is atrocious.

Of course there are very rare exceptions. You can get that new jason skin by opening packs for the realm event. But my conspiracy theory about that is that if you look on the jason leaderboard, there are hundreds of them, thus making up probably half of the current playerbase so in their eyes it only makes sense to make a skin obtainable for that character,
Rant aside, the game had potential. All of those IPs that WB owns and they're stuggling to maintain a playerbase just shows you the future of this game. At the time of writing this, I honestly think the game will close down before the end of this year. My only suggestion to them would be to change their business model with the game and create content that's not only engaging and rewarding. But content that will truely give the players a reason for sticking around.

This game was peak when it first came out and was probably the most fun I've had in gaming in a long time. But after being shut down for a year and coming back to this, it just makes me sick. This game really isn't fun if you play it for rank like me you will destroy your mental because this game is still broken after that year gap. Even with the new changes in combat this game is just not it, very ass backwards dev. I'm not sure what can be done for this game very sad to see where its at now after loving the beta. I've spend $100 on the founders edition for the game I once loved, now this game is just a joke.
